Our Network and Communities are arguably coming closer together during these uncertain times of isolation. We have been hearing about so many on-line meetings happening across the Network. EREBB have developed a Covid 19 Task Force – a group of leaders from each region who are rallying to address the greatest need in each region, to share stories and encourage schools to provide whatever support they can to one another during lock-down.
In the UK, Brothers Communities are in touch via Zoom, the Edmund Rice Office Team is working with schools, Network committees and outside agencies to continue our work as much as we can on-line.
Camps have sprung into action to tackle the obstacles that social isolation has put in their way, working together and with camps in Australia they have put into place many plans to bring camps on-line to vulnerable families, started on-line training sessions for volunteers and are gathering materials into packs to send out to children that they would normally be able to support face to face.
it has been wonderful to follow our schools on social media, seeing how they have engaged with families and communities, setting interesting on-line lessons, sending out spiritual and well-being resources and how they have also been supporting the vulnerable by creating PPE equipment in their DT departments. Well done, you continue to be inspiring!
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
