This year, as we are all forced to remain indoors, looking out of our windows, we do so with hope. Looking to the inspiration that we all derive from the Charism of Blessed Edmund and his lesson to us all to live lives of service and to strive to make improvements for those around us, at the margins who need our help we are called to mark the feast day in a different way. Isolation brought about by the pandemic has brought the international network even closer together and in this spite of togetherness we would like to invite all members of the network; schools, ministries, brothers to share in the resource that EREBb and EREA have out together that we may reflect, share and meditate together the life and legacy of Blessed Edmund this coming feast day and with all that means this year, in particular.
Please share the resource as widely as you like.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
