Today, 11th April, we were delighted to run an afternoon of in-service training to the teachers, support staff and governors of Runnymede. The theme was exploring how the charism of Edmund Rice is lived out at the school. We looked at the story of our founder, how the eight essentials are lived at Runnymede and further opportunities to become more involved in the Network.
We had an excellent reception and enjoyed working together immensely. The enthusiasm and commitment of the staff was evident, their support of the pupils, each other and the Edmund Rice Network is outstanding. We were thanked warmly for providing a ‘fun and inspiring’ afternoon but I must say that the thanks belong to Runnymede for continuing to be a beacon in the Edmund Rice schools family.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
