We were delighted that this year we were able to offer our Colleges the choice of either a face-to-face or online induction workshop for their new pupils into Year 7. We have enjoyed both experiences, working online allows the school great flexibility in terms of timing and each class has an hour with the office team and when we see a whole year group we enjoy interacting with the pupils in a different way. Our induction explores the history and legacy of Blessed Edmund’s mission to establish an education to liberate, students give their own opinions and insights into Edmund’s story and have done some excellent work on this with their RE teachers prior to the sessions with us. And they begin to understand what it means to belong to the global Edmund Rice family.
