There are nine Edmund Rice schools in England. Three of these are associate schools: St Aidan’s Catholic Academy(a diocesan school), St Mary’s College, and St Mary’s Preparatory School (both part of an independent trust). These schools choose to maintain a strong affiliation with their Christian Brother heritage and the Edmund Rice education tradition.
All of the other schools belong to the Gaudete Trust. Established in 2023, the Gaudete Trust comprises five religious orders who collaborate to enable the rich heritage of Catholic religious-order education to continue. The Gaudete Trust is a legal entity with the authority to oversee the legal, financial, and inspirational responsibilities of educational trusteeship formerly exercised by the Christian Brothers.
Our senior schools (St Ambrose College, St Anselm’s College, St Edward’s College, and St Joseph’s College) also belong to the Laetare Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.
