During the first half-term this academic year the College community collected tinned and dried food for the Wirral Foodbank. The generous donations from the Anselmian Community ensured that the van was full on collection day. This provided local families and those in need with essentials.
Eight Essentials work, Year 7.
As a follow up to their induction sessions with the Edmund Rice Office team, year 7 students went on to complete more research into the Eight Essentials of an Edmund Rice Education.
Climate Activists!
Big congratulations go to Tom Jones and Harvey McGrath in Year 11 at St Anselm’s College who have been resolute climate activists over the past months. They have participated in many campaigns and represented the school and English network at various conferences and summits such as the ‘Interclimate’ Climate Conference, the PRATYEK ERth Summit, Connecting Classroom projects, contributed to the COY16 Voices of Youth statement and culminating in representing the Edmund Rice global youth at COP26. Their work is far from over and they continue to take the message out to their school and community about lobbying leaders and about personal behaviour change in order to keep the dream of 1.5oC to stay alive.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
