‘Edmund’s Footsteps Award’. St Ambrose Prep are introducing a new pupils’ award this term, one that reflects the core mission and Edmund Rice education values of the Eight Essentials, an idea brought about by Mrs Marie-Claire Cooke, RE Co-coordinator and Edmund Rice lead in school. Mrs Cooke felt there was a need for an award for the children at St Ambrose Prep, one that they will be nominated for by their peers that recognises a child’s contribution to school life outside of academic, sporting or music achievements. Each week the children will have the chance to nominate another child for following in the footsteps of Edmund Rice. A beautiful award will be taken home for a week and children will receive a certificate to recognise their achievement too. The Edmund Rice Office supports this wonderful initiative and has donated the award to the school.
Singing for the Brothers
We were delighted that St Ambrose Prep school choir joined our Communities Meeting in October. It was great to see the students back in our building again and all of the Brothers and Network members at the meeting were so pleased to meet such wonderful children and we thank Mrs Green, Head of Music at the Prep for making time to bring her wonderful choir to the Office.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
