Edmund Rice England - Presence . Compassion . Liberation

A Word from the Governor!

My name is Justin Malewezi Jnr. The word “Malewezi” means zebra stripes in Chichewa language. I was born and raised in Malawi, Africa. I am passionate about helping young people reach their full potential in life, supporting them with food, shelter, education, and faith. From a young age, my father, the late Rt. Hon. Justin Malewezi, former vice president of the republic of Malawi, helped me to understand that as a community, we need to look after each other and that every person in the society is valuable and should be respected.

After several years working for the United Nation agencies in Malawi, I taught in a primary, secondary school and college in England. Then I became a University Lecturer. I have been working with children from Malawi and United Kingdom for the past 20 years.

My vision is to establish an outstanding early years, primary and secondary school in Malawi, comprising of a teacher training and research institute with the aim of having national and international impact through knowledge exchange.

Being a Foundation Governor at St Edward’s College gives me a chance to share the knowledge, skills and experiences which God has blessed me with over the past years, hoping that I may bless others. You may find out more about me on www.malewezi.com
