Alumni – Where are they now?

My time at St Edward’s College is something I look back on with joy, a school I feel privileged to have been able to attend, and that I am lucky enough to be a part of today.

As a pupil at St Edward’s, there was always so much going on. We held numerous fundraising events like car washing, the St Edward’s bake off and St Edward’s has got talent. Pupils and teachers alike would get involved, raising money for good causes, but also giving everyone some real enjoyment and laughs. There was the drama festival at the end of Year 7, a variety of school trips, and a major sports day at the end of the school year. These aspects of the wider school life gave St Edward’s a sense of a truly close community, with everyone being a part of this.

Teachers always had high expectations and wanted the best for all pupils, going above and beyond to help their pupils achieve their dreams. The school really was a great place to be.

Being part of St Edward’s as a pupil was a major factor in my decision to become a teacher. I saw the difference that teachers made to the lives of pupils and wanted to make a difference too. Making school a valuable and enjoyable part of the lives of my pupils is something I strive to do each day. I want my pupils to make the most of such an important part of their lives and leave school with fond, happy memories to look back on.
