Our British Council Connecting Classrooms project #ERSchoolsAgainstWaste which has seen the collaboration of St Aidan’s, St Anselm’s, St Joseph’s Prep, St Vincent’s Asansol and CBC St John’s (seniors and juniors) Capetown has been running since last year. In December we will wrap up our collaborations with a celebratory online conference where all the students and staff involved will explain what they have learned and gained from this global project. Learning about each other’s schools, arranging video conferences and teachers whats app groups, encouraging our schools to become greener and cleaner, working together and sharing news on environmental issues as well as the opportunity for school staff to undertake British Council CPD have all been key elements of this project. We have very much enjoyed working together as a group of Edmund Rice schools from very diverse backgrounds to work on a common goal of a more sustainable future for all.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
