We enjoyed a wonderful return to our gatherings this month with a musical evening hosted by our dear friend Rosemary Broadbent. Friends and Brothers gathered at Woodeaves for refreshments followed by a wonderful delve into composers and pieces that lie behind ‘The Tip of the Iceberg.’ Rosemary gave a fascinating insight into the lesser known works and styles by the composers we know for their most well known pieces such as Ravel for his Bolero.
It was wonderful to be back together, one of guests remarked:
Thank you so much for a lovely musical evening with Rosemary. I am always made to feel so welcome at Woodeaves and I was really in awe of the preparations you had made for that evening. It was so generous and warm in every way.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
