Our Primary School Year 6 students have all begun their Edmund Rice Awards program this term. It is a privilege to work with such engaged and proactive young people who are superbly supported by their class teachers. The program looks at our global network, the brothers, and ministries today, hearing our calling, human rights, advocacy, and outreach work, as well as care for the planet. Awards students meet senior pupils from the Colleges who talk to them about immersion, meet a brother, and engage with Edmund Rice ministries locally and internationally. This input is followed by their own advocacy and outreach project, where they put their learning into action. Awards pupils will all come together in celebration late in June this year to share their projects and meet one another.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
