On Friday 19th August Tom Jones, one of the two St Anselm’s students who won the Million Minutes Barbara Ward award this summer for Care for the Environment was interviewed on Radio Maria. Tom told presenter, Helena Judd all about the experience of receiving the award and about the work he and his good friend Have McGrath had been doing around campaigning to make positive changes with regards our environment and the climate crisis. Ann Nichols was also part of the interview and she gave an overview of the Edmund Rice Schools in England as well as the global network. Our schools have been invited to contribute to the Radio Maria schedule on a weekly basis to catch up with the social justice work they are doing. The slot will be known as “Life Lessons with Edmund Rice”. Listen out for them!

O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
