Since the closure of the Brother’s Community at “Woodeaves” in May and subsequent plans to sell the building, the Edmund Rice Education Office has been looking for a new base. We are delighted to announce that in the new year we will move into ‘Edmund Rice House’ at St Edward’s College, Liverpool. Built in 1830 as St Clare’s gatehouse, it was used more lately as the Caretaker’s cottage. Extensive renovation work has been going on over the past weeks, expertly supervised by Thomas Mealy, the College Estates Manager. We are very excited to be moving into the new base soon and look forward to seeing visitors and holding meetings there early in 2025.

O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
