We had a fabulous Formation Day at the start of term with new staff and governors from our schools. This day: ‘A Call to Participation’, allows staff to get to know one another, learn about our heritage and our call to be Edmund’s people today. Exploring the values of an Edmund Rice education, beginning to know the wider local and global network, as well as meeting Brothers and the Edmund Rice Education Office staff is a vital part of the year for us all. Participants told us in their feedback that they felt ‘welcomed’, ‘inspired’, ‘excited’, ‘enthused’ and ‘intrigued’ to join our Edmund Rice family and that they ‘look forward to the opportunities it will bring.’
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
