Opening Doors Campaign

Witnessing the amazing work being done in the Girls’ Empowerment Project and Senan Kerrigan Vocational Skills Centre we have put together a campaign for our schools to participate in during Advent (and beyond!)

The campaign focuses on Child and Women’s Rights in West Africa, SDG 10 Reduced Global Inequalities and the Right to Education. We have created resources that schools can use to learn about some of the challenges girls face in countries like Sierra Leone such as damaging cultural practices, early childhood marriage, and teenage pregnancy. Our Edmund Rice community in England is being encouraged to engage with the Advent campaign by holding assemblies, publishing the campaign on their websites and social media and holding fund-raising events.
