First Reconciliation
This term, St Ambrose Prep were privileged to watch our Sacramental class make their first
reconciliation at Holy Angels Church. Thanks to Mrs Cooke and Father Tom, the service was
beautiful and meaningful. We are so proud of all the children who made their First
Reconciliation and who have chosen to walk with God in this step towards their first Holy
Communion. We are grateful to Father Nick and Father Chris who assisted Father Tom with
the Reconciliation. It was a truly special evening.
Edmund Rice Award
This term, we introduced our new ‘Edmund’s Footsteps Award’. This award will be given to
a child, each week, who has displayed characteristics from the Eight Essentials of Edmund
Rice. There is a post box in the school in which the children are
welcome to place a nomination for any displays of these values
they have seen in another child. Each week in whole school
assembly, one nomination is randomly selected from the post box
and awarded to that child who keeps the award for a week. It has
been lovely to see the children nominate each other and celebrate
each other for their good deeds.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
