Edmund Rice England - Presence . Compassion . Liberation

St Edward’s College

Sixth Form Retreat Day

On the 10 March a group of 22 Year 12 students, along with Mr Roberts and Mr Moroney, braved the snow to take part in a day long service retreat for Lent.

The day involved a morning of reflection, prayer, talks and sharing at the university chaplaincy followed by an afternoon down with missionaries of Charity sisters who hosted a carousel of different activities including constructing Easter Baskets to distribute to people in need, a talk on Mother Theresa and stations of the cross. The Theme of the day was ‘I call you friends’ and all the activities of the day explored the quality of our friendships and how we extend our friendship to those in need. One student commented: “It was honestly such an eye-opening, heart-warming experience and I couldn’t be keener to sign up for the next one when I get a chance.”
