Our Lenten Journey
We started our Lenten Journey by welcoming father Caddell into school to distribute ashes
on Ash Wednesday. Our amazing Lenten fundraising efforts then began in earnest with
numerous fundraising initiatives and competitions, including Welly Throwing, Egg
Decoration competition, Cake Sales, Easter Bonett Parade and a Talent Show. CAFOD and
Nugent care will be the recipients of the money raised, which will be in excess of £2,750.
We invited Father Caddell back into school to lead a whole school Stations of the Cross.
School Council
Our newly formed School Council took on their first campaign to raise awareness of
recycling to help save our planet. The Radio City ‘Cash for Kids’ initiative asked for used
clothes to be donated for recycling and to avoid going to landfills. The children led this and
were delighted to hand over the donations generously given by our families.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
