St Timothy’s Community, Liverpool

All the Brothers here are well, ageing gracefully. Much time is spent with hospital and clinic appointments. It’s now part of the daily / weekly routine. We are blessed to have such wonderful care from our NHS services. Luckily, we haven’t had to encounter any major surgery.

I attended a conference in Wigan recently that talked about a Caring Community based on Paulo Freire’s work ‘See, Judge and Act’. It’s a programme the archdiocese has put together as it prepares for The Journey to 2030. It’s an invitation to help people to respond as a community to our ecological and social crises using Laudato Si and Fratelli Tutti as a focus. The Archdiocese of Liverpool is offering training for parishioners over the next few months. ‘Together we can make a difference’.

Garden: Our garden hasn’t quite recovered from the huge amount of rain we have had since the New Year began. As a result, the daffodils are very slow in appearing. However, the blossoms are in full bloom on the Camelia shrub outside the front door. Hopefully the weather will improve soon so that we can get some potatoes and vegetables sown. The grass got its first cutting last week. Looking forward to smelling the roses again and seeing life coming through and bearing fruit.
