In July and August the Edmund Rice England Schools Staff Immersion took place. In order to give staff in our English schools an opportunity to connect with our ER communities in the developing world, visit the South African schools and work with the human rights NPO Justice Desk Africa, we arranged our inaugural immersion for adults to South Africa. Teachers from St Mary’s Crosby and St Aidan’s Sunderland said ‘yes’ to this wonderful opportunity. Our adventures and encounters can be explored in detail in our immersion booklet. We would like to thank all who hosted us there; brothers, staff and network friends. Lots of relationships were forged and will result in new joint projects. #EREBB
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
