This October Tom moved from his role as Youth Development Officer for the Edmund Rice
Schools Office to being Chaplain in two of our senior schools. As we move into the new
Gaudete Trust, our office roles are changing, and Tom very much felt that it was to
Chaplaincy he was being called. Both St Ambrose College and St Anselm’s College are
delighted to have him on their staff and his positive impact is already felt. We enjoyed a
wonderful dinner to celebrate Tom’s years on the office team. He will continue to be a
shining light in the Edmund Rice family, leading advocacy work and immersions as well as
his new role as Chaplain.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice.
He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.
May we follow his example of faith and generosity.
Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
